The Bustle Skirt Continued...

I am small and runty. That is what happens to the last one born in the litter.

But what I mean to explain is that this item will fit little people and large people, it all depends on how you tie it. Can you see the bustling action in the back? Not everyone likes this feature. It is subtle and it isn't pronounced. It is a tough sell.

There are those shoes ag'in!

If anyone is interested, I will, eventually and somehow, post the pattern for this piece. Adjust it in anyway you like, have a larger ruffle, use no ruffle at all, make the skirt floor length, or ruffle it up so tight the entire skirt balloons up. Add beading to the ties, put little bows around the waistline, add a pocket centre front, hey I like that last idea.

Thanks Eastern White,
it's not really my idea, but it is my work. I do sell my designs in a boutique in Ottawa, Canada. Some items, though could be sold online and I'm considering going into that direction. There really are few new ideas.
Though, if your interested, the Kyoto Fashion Institute put together a fantastic book of costume from the 2000 Century to present. There are some fabulous new ideas in this book, and really great photography too. If your are interested check it out.
Keep reading. Thank you for your comments Ms. White.

That skirt is gorgeous! I'd definately be interested in the pattern, although won't be making it for myself until my bump is gone, can you imagine? A bump at the front and ruffles at the back?! It'd be perfect for summer here though.

I love the idea of the Calypso Bustle in tweed... hmmn. You'll need a light weight tweed or have it lined, now that's two skirts in one.
This piece is REALLY easy to make and I'll try my hardest to make the instructions easy to read and understand. Maybe I'll have a "support network" for trouble-spots.

Oh, and you can wear the bustle under a prego-belly if necessary, and it goes well to conceal bellies post delivery.

Hey - jus' found your site and am poking around. This looks like a really interesting skirt! But I see how it might not appeal to everyone. Especially if they had more boot than they wanted in the first place. But if I saw it somewhere I would definitely try it on. :)

Dear Andrea,
Thanks for your comments. I'm slowly working on the pattern. The posting would really need some pictures, there are tricky areas that are sometimes overly described. So, I'm working on it. Keep on me and it'll be on my mind more often.
