Knit-It Ottawa

We did it. The Ottawa contingent participated in the world wide performance art piece. Yeah, there were only about 12 of us, but we did it.

We jumped into our black suits, white shirts and red ties and grabbed our white knitting and headed to the Parliament buildings. And let me tell you, "it was hot!". Artsy girls are not used to wearing suits.

Got hassled by an RCMP officer, he was rather friendly and nice.

Saw some cats. I told the cat keeper I would knit him a scarf.

And headed back to work.

It was fun. Many people came up to us and asked what was going on. Some of us said, "we're knitting". Some said, "we're participating in a world wide art performance. By wearing a uniform and knitting white commemorating compassion and caring through art.... er, something like that."

Hey Jacqueline,

I'm the one without the head, can you see my ring? I said to my friend, "No head shots!". She wasn't fond of it but took it anyways.
This was fun.
Hey and by the way, I don't know where to find a ring like that. It was one of a kind-at the time of purchase, but not unusual.

Looks great! I wish I could have participated, but (alas!) mid-day downtown activities are difficult, as I work in the 'burbs.

I think 12 is a VERY respectable turnout

Wow! That's cool! Wonder if anyone in Toronto has the motivation to organize one of these things in TO?

Good job on attending! I wish I could have, but I don't work down town anymore. Maybe next year :)
